Walks In Tatton

Tatton Park to me is my happy place. I have so many amazing memories there from when I was a little baby to now – and I still go there all the time. I don’t know what it is that draws me to it so much, just when I hear we are going there, I get all excited and happy. It may be all the great garden and forest areas, the great playing area or the fantastic Cafe where you can sit outside on a nice day. It is a perfect day out, especially with Kids!

Shrewsbury Day Out

I always love going out to new places, especially when I know nothing about it. Shrewsbury for me was one of those places, and the only thing I knew was that there were A LOT of Shops (And I mean A LOT!) I am starting to get into shopping more and more, and since of course I needed more stationary and some new clothes – I couldn’t think of a better time to go!

Here Comes The Sun!!

It’s a bit weird how it is so nearly Summer – and I’m sure that it will slip through my fingers like the rest of the year has gone.

I know, I know – Summer in the UK is not always sunny. (In fact, it’s as far opposite in most cases) But, there is something that gets me hyped up about Summer and that is the Family Time and SUN! I think probably from about August – December we spend the most family time together. In Summer, it is mostly the picnics and barbeques, and Christmas is cuddling up by the fire to watch a movie.

Especially this week, the UK have had so much sunny weather that it is hard to not believe it is not Summer. I wake up in the morning to the sun – and I am going to sleep now with the sun peaking through my window. It’s literally the LIFE! Yesterday I even has to dig through my drawers for the Shorts. Yes, THE SHORTS!

I know this may be a bit weird, but the sun really affects my mood. There is probably a word for that – but I’m not going to look it up (Google was created for a thing!) I wake up at quarter to 7 every morning, but when the sky is fogged up with clouds I feel like turning my alarm off and falling back to sleep. With the sun, I am ready for the day! In class, Sun means I am fully concentrating and happy – and you guessed it, with the clouds I’m not! LOL

What is your favourite thing about Summer? Your new wardrobe, the sun, Family?

3 Breathtaking Reads….

It feels so good to be writing on this white screen. A white screen to me doesn’t represent it being blank, but it represents creativity and inspiration. It calls out to me to write on it – and that’s what I love doing. I think the reason why I have not been doing it is a lack of ideas. But that is going to change… the only way to find a new idea – even a spark is to turn your head around and look in a new direction.

The post that I am writing today has been one I have been wanting to write for some time and after a trip to Waterstones, I have added another book to the collection. While I was at the bookshop, I felt overwhelmed and I thought the only way to find a book I really want to read is to have a lil look at WordPress and Pinterest (and of course amazon books) That’s why I am writing this post. If you are looking for something to read. I always find this as I have read everything on my bookshelf so I go and turn to other People’s recommendations.

My Top 5 Fave Books!
The first in the list (and by the way, this is in no particular order) is ‘A Monster Calls‘ by Patrick Ness. The first time I heard about this story was when I went to see ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them’ at the cinema with my Dad. It looked very good and found out it was based on a book. As they always say, The Book is better than the Film. I went ahead and bought it, and knew it was good as it had been picked for a number of book awards and book clubs. One of its awards have been the CILIP Carnegie Medal – and it truly deserves that. It ranges a mix of emotions funny but very touching. Obviously, I can’t say too much because I am only halfway through the book. The story follows a young boy in High School who is trying to look after his sick Mother. She has treatments and gets very sick after them. The boy, called Conor, gets the same nightmare every night. He swears to himself that he will not tell anybody what happens. Then something different happens, a monster calls. Just after midnight, as they do. He has a message. He will tell the boy 3 stories, and Conor has to tell him 1 back – that is his nightmare. This book truly is amazing, you get so gripped into the story and always want to read more. It almost has a poetic feel to it and uses the most amazing sentences and language.

Coming next is ‘Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone.‘ It is such an amazing collection of books and if I could put all of them into the blog post I will (maybe a future blog post right there…..) I am just going to say about the 1st one in this post. There is only one word I can say about it. Amazing. It is a great start to an amazing collection. I love the harry potter books because there is always something happening. In most books, there is a lot of description and the story kind of pauses. I’m not saying I don’t like them but it gets pretty boring!!! The story moves so fast in Harry Potter that if you skipped 2 pages, you would miss a very important event. You get so sucked into the storyline and amazing characters that you actually believe is a real person. Everything in the story is so realistic but yet JK Rowling still can put magic into it. It is such an amazing collection and is written beautifully.

Last but definitely not least, a classic from one of my favourite authors – Michael Morpurgo ‘Listen To The Moon.‘ One of my favourite types of books is books where you have to find the clues in the text and you have to link them up. This is what this is. I have loved Michael Morpurgo after I read a book about the ghost Walter in Year 4 Primary. From there I have gone to 1 of his shoes and been looking at lots of other ones online. In the story, the Girl cannot speak but keeps looking at the moon in a weird way. Here is the blurb:

May, 1915. Alfie and his fisherman father find a girl on an uninhabited island in the Scillies – injured, thirsty, lost…and with absolutely no memory of who she is, or how she came to be there. She can say only one word: Lucy. Where has she come from? Is she a mermaid, the victim of a German U-boat, or even – as some islanders suggest – a German spy…? Only one thing is for sure: she loves music and moonlight, and it is when she listens to the gramophone that the glimmers of the girl she once was begin to appear. WW1 is raging, suspicion and fear are growing, and Alfie and Lucy are ever more under threat. But as we begin to see the story of Merry, a girl boarding a great ship for a perilous journey across the ocean, another melody enters the great symphony – and the music begins to resolve…A beautiful tour de force of family, love, war and forgiveness, this is a major new novel from the author of Private Peaceful – in which what was once lost may sometimes be found, washed up again on the shore…

Thanks for reading the blog post! What is your favourite book? Remember – every Sunday at 6PM a new one will be here for you to enjoy!

My Music Playlist

*A LITTLE NOTE* Now I will be uploading blog posts every Sunday at 6 PM, as it fits in better with my very busy schedule. 😊 ALSO, This is NOT a paid advertorial for Amazon Music!

As everybody knows, music is a really big part of my life. It makes me show my emotions – or get rid of a certain one. I listen to it nearly every single day – and this blog post is going to be really hard to write because I update my music so much! Something I find weird about music is that it can remind you of certain places or times in your life. For example, the song ‘Shut up and dance‘ reminds me of when I went to Wales! Do you have any songs like that – go and leave a comment below!

I’m In Love With Cornwall!

I know I have posted quite a lot recently about Cornwall, but I haven’t actually posted about general Cornwall. Cornwall was such an amazing place for me and made me feel a different way about nature and fantastic landscapes. There were so many amazing views to be seen there and so much to do it was hard to fit it all in!
